As part of the lead-up to the International Day of Yoga 2025, on 2nd June the Consulate General of India, Birmingham, continued its Yoga Mahotsav celebrations with two enriching sessions held under this year's theme, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing."

The programme featured a session on Nada Yoga conducted by Atman and a session on Yoga for Mental Health led by the Isha Foundation. The event brought together participants from diverse backgrounds to explore the holistic benefits of yoga for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

During the Nada Yoga session, participants experienced the therapeutic and healing power of sound, learning how vibrations and mindful listening can promote inner harmony, relaxation, and overall wellness. The Yoga for Mental Health session introduced participants to rejuvenating pranayama practices and yogic techniques designed to support emotional resilience, mental clarity, and stress management.

Participants also gained valuable insights into the role of regulated breathing in enhancing and balancing vital life energy, or prana, a fundamental concept in yogic traditions that contributes to overall health and well-being.

The event forms part of the Consulate's ongoing Yoga Mahotsav series aimed at promoting awareness of yoga as a holistic lifestyle practice and encouraging wider community participation in the celebrations leading up to the International Day of Yoga. Through these sessions, the Consulate continues to highlight yoga's significant contribution to healthy ageing, preventive healthcare, and mental wellness.

The Consulate General of India, Birmingham, extends its appreciation to Atman and the Isha Foundation for their valuable contributions and to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement in promoting the message of wellness, harmony, and healthy living through yoga.
