The Consulate General of India, Birmingham provides Consular Services to the members of public. Some of these services are handled directly at the Consulate, while others are outsourced to our service provider, VFS Global.
Consular Services provided directly at the Consulate General of India, Birmingham are as follows:
Execution of Power of Attorney for Civil/Property/Financial matter.
Life Certificate for Pension or any other purposes (except for defence pensioners)
Sworn Affidavit for issuance of Passport to a minor child residing in India.
Solemnization of Marriage under the Foreign Marriage Act 1969.
No Obligation to Return to India (NORI) Stage – I and Stage - III.
Procedure to apply for all the above mentioned miscellaneous Consular Services which are being provided directly at the Consulate General of India, Birmingham is as follows:
Sign up and create your account using the New User Tab at eCCSS portal SEWA – Indian Consular Service System - https://indianconsularservices.mea.gov.in/consularServices/
Activate your account using the OTP received on your registered email ID.
Log in to your account and apply for the required service.
Users can avail of multiple services using the same account.
After selecting the service, please upload the necessary documents.
Upon successful submission, an electronic acknowledgment will be generated, and the application will be sent electronically to the Consulate for document scrutiny.
Once the documents are verified, the applicant will receive a confirmation message.
Upon receipt of the confirmation, the applicant must log in to the eCCSS portal and choose an appointment date via the user dashboard.
It is mandatory to secure an online appointment before visiting the Consulate General of India, Birmingham.
During your in-person visit, all original documents and copies uploaded to the portal must be presented to the Consulate. Applicants and witnesses (if applicable) must sign in front of the consular officer at the CGI Birmingham counter.
Original documents will be matched and verified against the uploaded files before the consular service is completed.
Appointments can only be scheduled by the applicant through the portal after the documents have been scrutinised by the Consulate.
Applicants can check the required documents and fees for any consular service without registering on the eCCSS portal.
Required fee:
The specified fee must be paid in exact CASH only at the CGI, Birmingham consular counter. All fees are non-refundable. Personal Cheques, Credit or Debit Cards or any other Banking instruments will not be accepted.
