Consul General Visits Tata Consultancy Services, Leamington Spa Following the India–UK CETA - 17th July, 2026

Following the landmark signing of the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), Consul General of India, Birmingham, Dr. Venkatachalam Murugan, visited the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) facility in Leamington Spa on 17 July 2026.

During the visit, the Consul General met with Mr. Sudeep Mazumder, Vice President, Tata Consultancy Services, and his team to discuss the far-reaching opportunities arising from the India–UK CETA and its potential to strengthen economic engagement between the two countries.

The discussions focused on the significant benefits that the agreement offers to the consultancy and services sectors, including enhanced mobility for professionals, improved ease of doing business, greater collaboration in technology and innovation, and expanded opportunities for bilateral trade and investment. The meeting also highlighted the role of Indian companies in advancing economic growth, fostering innovation, and creating employment in the United Kingdom.

The Consul General appreciated Tata Consultancy Services' continued contribution to strengthening the India–UK partnership and reaffirmed the Consulate's commitment to supporting businesses in leveraging the opportunities created by the India–UK CETA.

The visit underscored the shared commitment of the Government of India and industry stakeholders to translate the benefits of the landmark agreement into tangible outcomes, further deepening bilateral economic cooperation and unlocking new avenues for growth, innovation, and prosperity.
