Next Generation members of family-run enterprises to the NxG Learning Journey in Madurai, scheduled for 27–28 February 2026 .

Designed exclusively for the NxG community, this immersive 1.5-day learning journey brings together experiential learning, peer connections, and curated business and cultural exposure. It’s an opportunity to learn directly from legacy businesses that have evolved, scaled, and stayed rooted—while exchanging perspectives with peers who are navigating similar journeys.

Format: Experiential learning journey with curated visits and interactions

Participants: NxG members (18–40 years)

Beyond its celebrated cultural heritage, Madurai is a quite powerful industrial hub, home to multi-generation family enterprises across textiles, manufacturing, logistics, food processing, and services.

Many of these businesses have grown sustainably over decades—balancing tradition with transformation.

What to expect:

Day 1: Curated visits to two family businesses with structured learning interactions

The families proposed to be visited are the following:

TVS Group: Founded in 1911, TVS Group is one of India’s oldest and most respected family-owned business groups, with roots in Tamil Nadu. Today, the multi-generation family enterprise operates across multiple sectors including automobiles, auto components, logistics, electronics, finance, IT solutions, and real estate , with a strong presence in both Indian and global markets.

Aravind Eye Hospitals: Founded in 1976 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, Aravind Eye Care System is one of the world’s largest and most respected family-run eye care organisations. Its core mission is to eliminate needless blindness by providing high-quality, affordable eye care to all, regardless of a person’s ability to pay.

Day 2: Cultural and heritage immersion, offering context, reflection, and informal peer bonding

A guided early-morning visit to the historic Meenakshi Amman Temple — a living institution that has shaped trade, patronage, and civic systems for over a millennium

A traditional South Indian breakfast experience

A curated heritage and market walk through old trade streets, exploring the informal economy, trust-based commerce, and the enduring nature of family-led enterprise
