1.The 14th International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE 2021) is scheduled from 21-23 October 2021 at New Delhi. This event organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. IREE serves as a Global Platform for Railway Technology & Services. This is the largest event for the Rail Transportation Sector in this part of the world.
2.IREE is the only event in India for the Rail Transportation Sector with active involvement and participation of Indian Railways, which is the third largest rail network in the world, operating over 12,000 trains to carry over 23 million passengers per day connecting about 8000 stations spread across India. Indian Railways run 7000 freight trains per day carrying over 3 million tonnes of freight every day. With its continuous upgradation and modernisation plans, Indian Railways offers opportunities in Suburban corridor projects, High Speed train projects, dedicated freight lines – port/mining lines, rolling stock including train sets and locomotives/ coaches manufacturing and maintenance, railway electrification, signalling systems, improvement of terminals and managing freight terminals and development of passenger terminals.
3.Indian Railways (IR) will put up the largest IR Pavilion at IREE, showcasing its strengths and future requirements including development of new vendors and suppliers for its modernisation plans. Senior IR representatives – decision makers and technical experts - will visit IREE to identify suitable vendors and future product suppliers for Indian Railways. In addition to the IR Pavilion, IREE attracts participation of over 500 companies from 20 countries spread across an area of around 30,000 sq mtrs.
4.International Rail Conference (IRC 2021), an international conference for the rail transportation sector, is also being organised concurrently with IREE 2021 which would be addressed by experts from India and overseas, to update on the latest innovations and suitable upgradation technologies for Indian Railways. IRC is expected to be attended by over 500 delegates from Indian Railways and the Rail Transportation Industry.
