Visit to the University of Birmingham - 7th July, 2026

Consul General Dr Venkatachalam Murugan visited University of Birmingham to tour its world-class facilities and engage with academic leaders on strengthening India–UK higher education cooperation on 7th July, 2026. Discussions focused on the welfare of Indian students, expanding academic and research partnerships, student mobility, innovation, and emerging areas of collaboration between University of Birmingham and leading universities in India. A productive interaction with Prof. Mark Lee University of Birmingham, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (India) and Professor of Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Mahvish Nazir, Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering, and Charles Luke Wales, Director of International Strategic Engagement, highlighted ongoing collaborative projects and explored new opportunities to deepen institutional partnerships, joint research, faculty exchanges, and innovation-led engagement in the years ahead.
