Consulate General of India, Birmingham hosted the 2nd edition of Bridging Industries: Indian Cinema & the UK Film Ecosystem. The evening brought together over 100 distinguished members of the film and creative fraternity — including UK producers, creative department artists, actors, directors and investors — for engaging speeches and a dynamic panel discussion. Consul General Dr Ventachalam Murugan highlighted the expanding global footprint of Indian cinema and outlined recent Government of India initiatives aimed at strengthening and promoting the sector internationally. Speakers emphasised the growing relevance of the creative industries in today’s interconnected world and discussed how India and the UK can collaborate more closely to foster innovation, co-production, investment and mutual growth.The event celebrated not only cinema as a powerful cultural connector, but also the immense opportunities that lie ahead for deeper India–UK creative partnerships.
