Business event organised by the Indo British Trade Council and Leicestershire County Cricket Club on 13th May 2025

Strengthening East Midlands–India ties!
In a significant step towards strengthening trade and cultural links between India and the East Midlands, a business networking event was held on 13th May 2025, jointly organised by the Indo British Trade Council and the Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC).
The event was graced by Consul General Dr. Venkatachalam Murugan, who highlighted the shared passion for cricket as a unifying force that can also catalyse deeper economic engagement. In his address, Dr. Murugan underscored the growing opportunities for collaboration between Indian and UK businesses, particularly in the Midlands region.
A key highlight of the evening was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Indo British Trade Council and LCCC, establishing a framework to promote trade and innovation by utilising LCCC’s stature as a world-class sports and entertainment hub. The MoU is expected to open new avenues for bilateral business partnerships, cultural exchange, and community engagement.
The gathering brought together approximately 50 professionals and business delegates from across the East Midlands, providing an interactive platform for dialogue, networking, and exploring collaborative ventures.
