Make In India: Deep Dive into India - UK Economic Patnership - 13th February, 2025

On February 13, 2025, Consulate General of India, Birmingham in collaboration with Aston University & other organisations hosted a Make in India event, bringing together over 100 British businesses and SMEs. The event featured insightful speeches and presentations from National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited, Invest India - United Kingdom, and a dynamic panel discussion on investment opportunities in India.

Consul General Dr Venkatachalam Murugan emphasized India's rise as a global economic powerhouse, with the Necklace Of Progress now a reality—fueling manufacturing, exports, and job creation. India’s booming industrial sector presents a prime opportunity for UK SMEs to expand and thrive! "India is the go-to destination for the UK in education, trade & business," highlights Prof. Aleks Subic, VC Aston University, emphasizing the importance of strengthening UK-India ties through strategic partnerships & dual degree programs.

Shri Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO National Industrial Corridor Development Programme highlighted PM Gati Shakti, a game-changer for India's economic acceleration—ensuring faster, smarter, and seamless industrial expansion with world-class infrastructure.

The Invest in India / Make in India panel at Aston University featured industry leaders from Oxley Group, Kagool, School Of Coding, and Onze Ltd, who discussed how UK businesses can tap into India's dynamic market.

Another panel on Bilateral Trade & Investment Opportunities, featuring Infosys, SBIUK, Department for Business and Trade, and International trade experts, showcased the winning UK-India partnership for business growth. With 971 Indian companies in the UK employing 118,430 people and contributing £1.17B in taxes, India is solidifying its position as a global economic leader!
