On the occasion of 76th Independence Day of India, Consul General Dr. Shashank Vikram unfurled the newly installed flag at the Consulate premises on 15th August, 2022.A 15 mtr high flag pole has been put up at CGI Birmingham on the special occasion of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, which hoists the first of its kind tallest Tiranga in open air in the UK.

Indians & friends of India came together in large numbers at Consulate for flag hoisting ceremony on the Independence Day.
Consul General, Dr. Shashank Vikram read out Hon'ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu’s message on the occasion.

Lord Mayor of Birmingham and Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Birmingham also attended the Independence Day celebrations at the Consulate and conveyed their wishes on the occasion.

A recap video of 75 years of India’s Independence, journey of its transformation and achievements was also showcased on the occasion. Cultural performances by Ms. Kaveesha Maddala and Ms. Atreyee Bhattacharyya were well appreciated by all.
