Inauguration of the Warwick India Network at the University of Warwick Strengthens UK–India Academic Collaboration - 16 March, 2026 | University of Warwick

The Warwick India Network was officially inaugurated on 16 March at the University of Warwick, marking a significant step forward in strengthening academic, research, and cultural ties between the United Kingdom and India.

Speaking at the launch, Dr Venkatachalam Murugan, Consul General of India, highlighted the importance of the network in bringing together researchers, educators, professional services colleagues, and students. He emphasised that the initiative will deepen connections with India through academic partnerships, collaborative research, and enhanced cultural engagement.

The Warwick India Network aims to play a pivotal role in advancing the University’s research and education priorities while fostering robust and equitable partnerships with leading Indian institutions. It will also serve as a platform to celebrate Indian culture across the campus, enriching the university’s diverse and inclusive community.

Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor of the University, alongside fellow academics, addressed attendees on the Warwick India Strategy. They also shared proposals for the Warwick India Collaborations Showcase, an initiative designed to further strengthen institutional ties and promote joint academic ventures.

The launch event saw strong participation from academicians, researchers, students, and entrepreneurs, reflecting broad enthusiasm for the opportunities the network will create.

The University looks forward to the meaningful collaborations and vibrant community that the Warwick India Network will foster in the years ahead.
