Hon’ble Minister of State (IC) for Power & Non Renewable Energy, Shri R.K. Singh, headed an Indian delegation consisting of Mr. Anand Kumar, Secretary MNRE, Ms. Archana Agarwal, JS MOP, Mr. Arun Kumar Verma, JS MOP & Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, PS to Minister, visited Birmingham and Chester, UK from 10th -12th September, 2018 to take part in the world's first Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Summit. Minister Economic, Mr. Manish Singh also participated in the Summit. The visit commenced with the meeting of the Indian delegation with Secretary of State for transport, Rt. Hon. Chris Grayling at the Birmingham Library followed by participation in the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Summit at ICC, Birmingham, on 11th of September, 2018. The ZEV summit brought together policy makers, industry experts and opinion formers from around globe to tackle carbon emissions and to find ways to improve air quality. Prime Minister Theresa May addressed the Summit and announced a grant of £106 million funding for boosting electric vehicles, and the launch of a new Electric Vehicle Energy Taskforce. Representatives from business and government from around the world convened at the ZEV Summit to discuss ways on how the automotive industry can tackle emissions and help improve air quality. Hon’ble Minister also participated in the panel session at ‘The Global Road to Zero: Perspective from Governments around the world’ with Ministers of UK, Portugal and UAE. The Indian delegation then travelled to the Offshore Wind farm of Port of Mostyn, Chester, to discuss various operational issues for successful development of Offshore Wind Projects. The visit concluded with the departure of the delegation to London on 12th September, 2018.
