Consulate General of India, Birmingham, facilitated a Roadshow on ‘Vibrant Tamil Nadu Global Food Expo and Summit’ on 20th June, 2018 at its premises, with a view to promote participation of British companies from food, agro-products and related sectors. ‘Vibrant Tamil Nadu Global Food Expo and Summit’ will be held in Madurai in Tamil Nadu State of India during 12-15 August 2018. Around 20 representatives of local companies from food, agro-products and related sectors attended the Roadshow. Presentations were made by Mr. K. Pounraj, Vice Chairman & Mr. Nikhil Sheth, General Manager, Vibrant Tamil Nadu, to highlight the opportunities offered by ‘Vibrant Tamil Nadu Global Food Expo and Summit’ for various stakeholders in agro-food, agri-business and related sectors of Britain to learn more about latest technological developments and innovations in agriculture, food and beverage sector. Head of Chancery, Mr. S.M. Chakraborty, delivered the key note address in which he spoke about the various initiatives taken by the Government of India to promote trade between India & UK. He particularly mentioned about the Access India Programme, which was launched by the High Commission of India, UK in September, 2017. Mr. Paul Sabapathy, Former Lord Lieutenant West Midlands along with Mr. Uday K Dholakia, Brand Ambassador, Birmingham Airport Ltd. were among the other speakers
