As part of the outreach and engagement with all communities constituting the Indian diaspora in the UK, High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Y.K.Sinha during his visit to Birmingham, met leaders and representatives from the British Indian Muslim community over 'High Tea' at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the evening of October 13th, 2017.

The meeting was attended by nearly 40 British Indian Muslim community leaders and representatives from Midlands and North England region, all of whom had the opportunity of interacting with the High Commissioner and discuss various issues of importance. It was the first such meeting of the High Commissioner in Birmingham.

The event was highly appreciated by all the participants, and during post event informal interactions they expressed the desire for having more such interactions in the future. The guests included Mr. Hamid Malik, Chairman, Federation of Indian Muslim Organisations, UK, Mr. Suleman Nagdi, Federation of Muslim Organisations, Leicester, Mr. Abdulkarim Gheewala, Chairman, Indian Muslims Association, Leicester, Professor Nazira Karodia, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Wolverhampton, Professor Asif Ahmed, Professor of Vascular Biology and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Health, School of life Science, Aston University, Mr. Jaffer A Kapasi, OBE FFA among several other doctors/professionals/business persons.
