Sub:- 5th edition of Global Exhibition on Services (GES0 2019, Bengaluru)

1.It gives me immense pleasure to inform that after the success of the past four editions of Global Exhibition on Services (GES), the 5th edition of Global Exhibition on Services (GES0 2019 is being organized by Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India in partnership with the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) from 26th – 28th November 2019 at the Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

2.In India, the services sector remains the key driver of India’s economic growth, contributing significantly to India’s gross value added with a share of about 60% and India’s overall exports with a share of 38% in the recent years. The importance of this sector in the global economy can be gauged from the fact that this sector is contributing US$ 52.6 trillion in world GDP of US$80.7 trillion in 2017.

3.Recognizing the importance of this sector, the first GES was inaugurated in 2015 by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.The subsequent three editions of GES were inaugurated by the Hon’ble President of India in 2016, 2017 & 2018. The detailed program will be shared with you closer to the event. A post-show report of GES 2018 is attached for your reference.

4.The upcoming GES 2019 will provide a platform for forging sustained partnerships amongst countries in the identified champion services sectors. These include Information Technology & information Technology enabled Services (IT & ITeS), Tourism and Hospitality Services, Medical Value Travel, transport and Logistics Services, Accounting and Finance Services, Audio Visual Services, Legal Services, Communication Services, Construction and Related Engineering Services, Environmental Services, Financial Services and Education services. This event is expected to have participation from about 100 countries and will host focussed knowledge sessions and a large number of B2B, B2G and B2C meetings. An active participation from Indian State Governments and Union Territories is also expected.
