Consulate General of India, Birmingham organised a seminar to celebrate the Constitution Day on November 26,2016. Consul General J.K.Sharma read out the 'Preamble' of our constitution to start the celebrations. A documentary film "Taana Baana :The Warp and Weft of India" was screened. Consul General J K Sharma, Dr Satya Sharma, Deputy Lieutenant, Councillor Ramesh Srivastava, Shri Hamid Malik, Federation of Indian Muslim Organisations and Dr(Mrs) Kiran Gulia, University of Birmingham made presentations about the salient features of the Constitution and highlighted the contribution of Dr B R Ambedkar and other Indian leaders in framing of the Constitution, More than seventy prominent Community Leaders and NRI's and PIO's from Birmingham, Leicester, Manchester, Bradford, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Rugby, Nottingham including Shri R S Sandhu, Former High Sheriff, Dr Prakash Sahay, Indian Medical Association, Shri Resham Mahay, Dr Ambedkar Buddhist Action Committee, Councillor Ram Lakha, Councillor Chaman Lal, Councillor Rati Lal Govind, Councillor Deepak Bajaj, Councillor Manjula Sood, Councillor Mansukhlal Chohan, Shri Rajeev Dwivedi, YABA, Acharya Praveen Kumar, Hindu Initiative for Global Harmony, Dr T S Bassan, Sant Nirankari Mission, Shri Tarang Shelat, Hindu Council joined the celebrations.
