India’s urban population is expected to reach 40% by 2030, contributing to 75% by 2030, contributing to 75% of India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP)  due to rapid urbanization. For fostering faster and sustainable growth of  cities, a receptive, innovative and productive environment with better quality of living is imperative. India stands at the cusp of great challenges and opportunities in housing sector.

Hon’ble Prime Minister has envisaged a paradigm shift in technology transition using large scale construction under PMAY (U) as an opportunity to get the best available construction technologies across the globe. The shift in technology transition will also address the large scale housing construction in minimum time and cost with optimum use of resources and environmental friendly practices. In this context, they have conceptualised to conduct “Global Housing Technology Challenge-India (GHTC-India)” to enable the paradigm shift in the construction sector.

GHTC-India will be launched on 14th January, 2019 and followed by several events to enlist States and Technology Providers in the challenge. They will also organize a Grand Expo-cum-Conference on GHTC-india in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi and premises around it on 01-02 March, 2019.
