Consul General Dr. Aman Puri participated in a Community Reception organised by the Sandwell Confederation of Indians to welcome him to Birmingham. The community also welcomed the new Lord- Lieutenant for West Midlands, Mr John Crabtree OBE and Mr. S.M.Chakraborty, Consul, CGI Birmingham. Among the dignitaries were Mayor of Sandwell Ms Julie Webb, Mr Paul Sabapathy, former Lord Lieutenant of West Midlands, Mr. Richard Barker, Chief Superintendent, Sandwell, West Bromwich Police, Mr. H.S.Bhatia “Upashak”, Chairman, Sandwell Confederation of Indians, Dr. Satyavrat Sharma, Deputy Lieutenant, Councillors, business persons, professionals and many other prominent members of the Indian and local community.
