We are pleased to share with you that FICCI has the honour of being the industry partner of the Government of India for India’s participation at the World Expo 2020 to be held in Dubai from 20th October 2020 to 10th April 2021.

World Expo’s are held once in 5 years and are a 6 month long exposition providing an opportunity to the participating countries to present the latest and best in technology and new ideas to the global market. It is the world’s largest meeting place, bringing together countries, the private sector, the civil society and the general public around interactive exhibitions, live shows, workshops, conferences and much more.

The six-month-long exposition in Dubai aims to bring together the world under a central theme of Connecting Minds, Creating The Future.

The overall broader theme will sit on three sub-themes – Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability. 190 countries have confirmed their participation at the Expo which is likely to attract a footfall of about 26 million people from across the world.

Last time India participated was in 2010 in Beijing.

This time it is different. Not only is India a Strategic partner of the host country, India is also one of the chosen few to have one of the best plot for country pavilion and also to be given the opportunity to keep the pavilion in the legacy phase.

India’s showcasing will be dynamic, presenting a constantly moving exposition over the 6 months starting 20th October 2020 to 10th April 2021. India Pavilion will be a permanent structure and India is one of the few countries which have the benefit of using the pavilion in the legacy phase.

While FICCI works on the industry and state and government participation at the pavilion, we would like to seek your help in propagating India’s participation and encouraging the industry and government from your country of responsibility to connect with FICCI to draw up not only joint programmes but also investor and buyers meet as well as Ministerial meetings, covering both B2B and B2G. It will also be an opportunity to plan out G2Gs as all countries participating are bound to have senior Ministers visiting at different times covering the exposition.

We look forward to your support in making India’s participation a big success.
