Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas was celebrated at Consulate General of India, Birmingham on 9th January, 2016. PIOs/NRIs including dignitaries Baroness Sandeep Verma, Under Secretary of State for International Development and Ministerial Champion for tackling Violence Against Women & Girls Overseas, Dame Asha Khemka, OBE, DBE, Ms. Neena Gill, MEP, Dy. Mayor of Leicester, City Councilors, Academicians, Indian Community leaders etc. attended the celebration. The speakers delivered lectures on Skill India, Make in India, Renewable Energy, Role of Diaspora Community Organisations and Diaspora contributing to India's Social and Developmental Efforts.
