International Day of Yoga Celebrations

While addressing the United Nations General Assembly on Sep 27, 2014 Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had asked the World community to adopt an International Day of Yoga. On December 11, 2014 United Nations adopted the proposal to declare June 21 as International Day of Yoga. The resolution was moved by India and was co-sponsored by 177 countries including United Kingdom.

 

Consulate General of India, Birmingham in association with Indian community will be celebrating International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 21st June 2015 from 0900 hrs to 1615 hrs at

Centre for Oneness (Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan),  

Potters Lane, Wednesbury, Birmingham WS10 0AS

 

The programme will include demonstration of Yoga Asanas, lectures by eminent Yoga experts, Yoga workshops and screening of documentary films on importance of Yoga.

There is no entry fee and all the members of public are welcome to join the celebrations.
